Support their vision for every moment outdoors.
At Charlestown Eyecare, we understand that having an eye test can feel like a big step – especially for little ones. That’s why we’ve created a calm, welcoming space where children feel relaxed from the moment they arrive. Our friendly team takes the time to explain everything in a fun and caring way to show there’s really nothing to worry about. Whether it’s their first eye test or just a check-up, we’ll make sure it’s a positive experience for both you and your child.
Regular eye tests are important for spotting any vision issues early and supporting healthy development. We’re here to help every step of the way, so you can feel confident your child’s eye care is in safe hands.
An eye test for a child should normally be done around the age of 3 or 4, before they begin school, and every year or two thereafter – but they can be done at any age from birth. Parents with concerns about their children’s eyes or vision should arrange for them to see an optometrist to check out any symptoms.

We allow 40 minutes to an hour for a child’s eye test, often we don’t use all of this time, but it’s great to have it if we need it.
