Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are easy to use and are for all ages. Over 90% of prescriptions are suitable for contact lenses, and can be worn by almost anyone. When you come to Charlestown Eyecare for your contact lenses, we will ensure that you are able to apply and remove the lenses safely, taking as much time as you need to show you how.
Some lenses will be worn once before being recycled, others will be cleaned at the end of each use and re-used for a month, and in some special cases longer than this.
Your contact lens optician will explain how to care for your individual lenses and how you can recycle them after use.
Contact Lenses Trials
If you’d like to try contact lenses all you need to do is ask and we can do the rest. We will firstly ask some questions about when you want to wear lenses, and what you need to be able to see when wearing lenses.
We will ensure you have an up to date eye examination and then we can begin fitting.
To begin your contact lens fitting, simply book an appointment. The appointment is free of charge for any members of our eyecare plan, or current pricing can be found on our booking page.

Contact Lenses check-ups
To be able to have contact lenses fitted or checked, you will also need an up to date valid spectacle prescription. This tells us that the inside of your eyes have been checked, as well as the areas of your eyes affected by the contact lenses.
You can either book to have these appointments both conducted by one of our optometrists, or if your prescription is up to date, you can see our contact lens specialist to have just the lenses checked.
